Biography

My name is Mi Trinh. I am originally from Hanoi, Vietnam, and I have lived in the States for more than ten years. I earned my bachelor degree in Finance from Brigham Young University in Provo, UT in 2014, and worked for a year as a financial analyst after my graduation. I realized shortly after this experience that I wanted to switch careers. I spent several years afterwards on building a family and focusing on paving my way to another career path that is more meaningful to me. I am so grateful that I have discovered the field of speech language pathology, and even more so that I am given an incredible opportunity to take my courses at UIowa, get to know some outstanding faculty members, and join research labs with incredible initiatives. I am beyond excited to join the Clinical Linguistics and Disparities Lab. Coming from a cultural and linguistic minority, I am curious about this particular population and the quality and impact of speech services on them. Outside of school and lab, I spend time with my family and practicing piano as an adult beginner.
