I'm Emily Garcia and I graduated from the University of Iowa in May 2022 with two bachelor's degrees in Speech and Hearing Science and Psychology with a certificate in Disability Studies. I'm the lab coordinator for the SSDTx project where I put my bilingualism and multicultural background to use. I firmly believe in the power of language and representation within Academia and beyond. As a Latina myself, I'm eager to join in our lab's community efforts to capture Spanish's complexities and work to improve the way we view and treat disorders in multilingual individuals. When I'm not in lab, I like spending time with my cats, Mushi and Lucy.
