Alumni Graduate Research Assistant
Biography

My name is Alexander or Alex. I am incredibly happy to have the opportunity to join the Clinical Linguistics and Disparities Lab! I am of Chinese descent and am from Kirkland, WA. I received my B.S. in Speech and Hearing Sciences with a minor in Philosophy from the University of Washington in Seattle.

I love learning about different languages and what makes them different or similar to each other. I believe that knowing about other languages and linguistics can translate directly into different treatment methods for patients and how we interact with linguistically diverse patients. I am also an avid advocate for helping those who are disadvantaged and underrepresented, as well as advocating for equality and liberation for all groups. I am excited to be able to work on research that will have a long-lasting impact on helping clinicians treat linguistically diverse patients and how I might translate that same research into my future interactions with patients as an audiologist.
